Key Takeaways:
- Now, Raydium LaunchLab supports projects to launch tokens against any supported token pair on Solana.
- The new custom-pair model is the first integration by LaunchOnSF that has taken it to market.
- The upgrade aims to fix liquidity, cost, and flexible use of meme tokens.
With a significant update to the way new tokens can join Solana trading platforms, Raydium has taken big steps in adapting LaunchLab’s features. The launch platform can now accommodate custom token pairings, providing the creator team with more control of the assets that are deployed to kickstart liquidity.
LaunchLab Opens the Door to Custom Token Pairs
Previously, token launch platforms often relied on a limited set of quote assets. Raydium’s latest upgrade removes that restriction, allowing a newly created token to be paired with any supported token available through its infrastructure.

That means a project could build a market around an asset that already has strong relevance within its own community rather than defaulting to a standard quote token.
StonkFun Becomes the First Live Integration
LaunchOnSF’s StonkFun is the first integration partner to put the new functionality into production.
Raydium’s programs, aggregators and trading terminals needed updates to make it work, according to LaunchOnSF. The changes enable custom pair recognition and routing within the trading stack and beyond, not just at launch time.
StonkFun, too, noted that its deployment cost has dropped from 0.29 SOL to 0.03 SOL. Lots of action has already happened on the platform. In the past, LaunchOnSF reported over $392 million in trading volume, of which approximately $219 million was sent through Raydium.
Raydium Pushes Deeper Into Solana’s Meme Economy
After Pump.fun affected the trajectory of Raydium’s journey in 2025, LaunchLab has emerged as a vital component of the protocol’s strategic direction. Raydium came up with a solution of creating LaunchLab as an alternative token-launch platform that could be used on various platforms.

The newest custom pair adds to that model. Reduce the need for some sort of platform to launch tokens: LaunchLab gives projects more control over the economic makeup of their markets.
Flexibility is particularly significant for Solana’s active memecoin sector. Communities may wish to use a particular ecosystem token other than SOL for trading or incentives or liquidity.
A New Layer of Flexibility for Solana Token Launches
The upgrade is also a sign of a broader change in competitive dynamics of Solana launch platforms. Now, people aren’t just looking for tools to create tokens, they are searching for tools that will give them access to liquidity, trading, and incentives.
With the addition of custom token pairs into its launch infrastructure, Raydium offers developers and communities with increased flexibility while maintaining the consistency of these markets to connect with its wider trading future.
The new model now has the real-life deployment as StonkFun is already live. It could provide other token launch platforms with a new format for creating token markets based on the real-world assets held by their communities.
